Nurse of Narok

Meet Alice, sister of Seleina Sironka.  Alice is a nurse who lives outside of Narok, near Seleina's other sister, Seke.  Alice has many years experience as a nurse, and it is our hope to obtain sponsorship for her to continue her medical education in the United States.

Tumpes Masasi's Father

Here the webmaster is pictured with Tumpes Masasi and his father Kuria.  As a sign of respect, those younger than Kuria greet him with a bowed head, that he may bestow a blessing with a pat on their head.  Young men are excepted from this traditional rule once they go through the rites of circumcision.

Tumpes Masasi's Mother

As is the case with Tumpes' father, Tumpes' mother, shown here with the webmaster and Tumpes' younger siblings, would also be greeted with a bowed head by those younger than her as a sign of respect for her age and wisdom.  This picture was taken in front of her manyatta.

Brothers

Tumpes is seen here with his brother, Joseph.

A new home

Here the webmaster is seen with Tumpes, his wife, Joyce, and his youngest son, Sironka, in front of the home Tumpes was able to build with the money he earned from touring with the Friends of Sironka dance troupe.

Richard's Store

Richard Minisa was able to buy his own business space here in the little town of Kisemas near where he, Tumpes, and Koilel live.

Traditional clothing

Here Tumpes and Koilel are pictured wearing traditional Maasai men's clothing.
