Current Enkishon Nataana Projects

Below are some photos to give an understanding of the need for the projects Enkishon Nataana has embarked upon.

Olooseos Dispensary

This used to be an active hospital for the settlements outside of Kiserian, Kenya, but now it has no beds for its maternity ward, no electricity, and is in need of supplies of all sorts, ranging from pharmaceuticals to office supplies.

The road to Olooseos Dispensary

Here is a picture of the dirt road leading to the dispensary, which happens to be one of the nicest unpaved roads the webmaster saw in the Kajiado district.

One hospital bed?!

Seen here is the only examination bed owned by the Olooseos Dispensary.  Enkishon Nataana hopes to find donors willing to fund the purchase of hospital beds for both the examination rooms and the maternity ward.

A pharmacy without medicine

Dr. Damaris stands here in front of the dispensary's pharmacy, which contains meager supplies of pharmaceuticals.  The dispensary hopes for donors who would be willing to assist in the purchasing of pharmaceuticals, first aid supplies, contraceptives, and other medical supplies.

No electricity

The electricity here at the dispensary was turned off when the hospital no longer had money to pay the bill.  This is the current state of the electrical wiring.

Family Planning

It is here that family planning counseling occurs.

No Windows

By the way the webmaster's hand passes right through the window pane, one can see that the maternity ward at the dispensary is in need of windows.

A maternity ward with no beds

Maasai women will continue to give birth at home, where there can be complications, until this maternity ward has beds and privacy screens to offer patients.

Need for four wheel drive vehicles

The two photos here show the types of potholes and rock strewn roads that are found all throughout Sironka's homeland.  Olooseos Dispensary is badly in need of a four wheel drive vehicle that can serve the purpose of an ambulance.  Enkishon Nataana itself also needs the help of donors to purchase a four-wheel drive vehicle that will allow them to carry materials for pit latrines into rural areas.  Such a vehicle would also allow them to reach more young girls in the more rural areas that are in need of sponsors if they are to continue their education beyond a primary level.

Bringing school supplies and books to local schools

The webmaster gives school supplies and children's books donated by Half Price Books and Shoreline Community College's club Action4Change to school teacher John Simel.  John teaches at a school located a couple of hours away from Kiserian called Loodoriak Primary School.

A meager children's library

This tiny library serves the entire Mugima Training Centre girl's school outside of Kiserian.  The shelves seen here are the only bookshelves in the room.

A school and a home

Behind Ann, the webmaster, and the headmaster of the Mugima Training Centre, one can see the dormitory building where the girls attending the school live.

Sewing Class

When school is in session, girls attending the Mugima Training Centre take classes on sewing, where they learn to make clothing.  This allows the girls a means of creating something they can sell as a source of income.
